DESIGN HISTORY

The French animal painter Henri de Linarès, the artist behind the Plumes s carf d esigned i n 1953, f ound n ew i nspiration among birds and their plumage to give a different perspective to this composition. This time round, the quill feathers of red partridges, jays, pheasants and snipes are organised in circles within the square of the scarf. Each detail conveys the extraordinary lightness and subtle colouring of these feathers, which, from the way they are painted, seem as though they could fly away at the slightest breath. In 1952, along with the historian and storyteller Pierre-Louis Duchartre, Henri de Linarès founded the International Museum of Hunting in the Château de Gien, France.
